Dirk Meusel

Dirk Meusel is a Scientific Project Officer with the European Commission’s Consumer, Health, Food and Agriculture Executive Agency (Chafea) in Luxembourg. He is responsible for the implementation of project grants in the area of the promotion of healthy diets and physical activity as well as in the area of alcohol related harm reduction. Before, he was working on the file of safety and security of organs, tissues and cells transplantation and blood transfusion.
Before joining the European Commission in 2009, he was a research fellow in Public Health and Sports Science with the Karolinska Institute in Stockholm, Sweden, and the Scientific Institute of the German Olympic Sports Federation in Leipzig, Germany. Dirk Meusel has a Doctorate in Public Health from the Medical Faculty in Dresden, Germany, with a focus on Knowledge and Data Sharing in Public Health research. His interest lies in European Cooperation, Scientific Knowledge and Data Sharing, Project Management as well as in the Public Dissemination of project results for ensuring widest implementation of them.
